The study conducted by Larsson & Vinberg (2010) indicates that leadership behaviour is extremely vital for ensuring that the organisations are successful. There are different dimensions of leadership behaviour theory. As far as successful leadership behaviour is concerned, there are universal and contingency elements. The leadership research indicates that there is a significant influence of leadership on the effectiveness of the firm. Leadership is one of the internal factors influencing the organisational effectiveness besides factors such as strategic planning, investments, product development and marketing. In the study conducted by Larsson & Vinberg (2010), they have differentiated between different leadership styles including transformational and transactional. Transformational leadership is a leadership style in which leaders encourage and motivate the employees to develop changes so that the organisation can grow and become successful. The leaders who are transformational should have an efficient corporate culture, employee ownership. On the contrary, transactional leaders are those that focus on the supervision role, organisation and enhancing performance of the group. Leaders who take this style focus on certain tasks for motivating the followers. The authors in the study have indicated that there is a thin line of difference between these two leadership styles. Transactional leadership focuses on organisation, rewards and evaluating the performance effectively. However, transformational leadership is about high motivation and engagement with the followers. The best type of leadership between these two is transformational as it is highly important for the leaders to keep, they followers motivated. The leaders should be able to put focus on the fact that it is critical to focus on ensuring best for the followers by motivating them and listening to them. This is only possible by a transformational leader.
