JSSC Kakshpal Recruitment 2025: Apply Online, Eligibility, Exam Date & Vacancies
What is JSSC Kakshpal Recruitment 2025?
JSSC stands for Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission. It is the body that conducts many state government job exams in Jharkhand.
“Kakshpal” is the name given to the prison warder/jail warder post under the Home, Jail & Disaster Management Department of Jharkhand state. In 2025, JSSC announced recruitment for Kakshpal (also called warder) posts. This gives a good opportunity to people who have passed the 10th class and want a government job.

- The pay scale is Level-2, which means ₹19,900 to ₹63,200 as per Jharkhand’s pay rules.
Who Is Eligible?
To apply, you must satisfy certain eligibility criteria. Here’s what they are:
Educational Qualification
- You must have passed the 10th class (Matriculation) from a recognised board.
- No higher qualification is required, but more education does not replace the requirement to have passed 10th.
Age Limit (as on 01 August 2025)
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Maximum age: depends on your category and whether you served in home guard, ex-army, or assistant police roles.
- For example, for general (UR) male candidates, the upper limit is 25 years in the basic case. But there are relaxations for home guard, ex-servicemen, SC/ST, etc.
- For SC/ST, the maximum age is slightly higher (for example, 30 years in many cases).
Always check the exact age rules in the official notification (because there are many subcategories and relaxations).
Selection Process
Getting selected for Kakshpal (warder) involves a few stages:
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- This usually includes running 1600 metres in a fixed time limit.
- For male candidates, the target is 1600m in 6 minutes.
- For female candidates, the time allowed is 10 minutes for 1600m.
- Written Examination
- This may be done in OMR or CBT mode.
- The test will cover general topics aligned with the post.
- Medical Examination / Physical Fitness / Document Verification
- You must pass a health / medical test.
- Your documents (education, identity, caste, etc.) will be checked.
- If all is okay, final merit list will be prepared.
To succeed, you must clear all stages. Failing one stage means elimination.
Physical Standards & Fitness Criteria
Because this is a post with physical demands, you also have to meet height and chest requirements:
- For male (General / OBC / EWS): height 160 cm, chest 81 cm
- For SC / ST male: height 155 cm, chest 79 cm
- For females (all categories): height 148 cm (no chest requirement)
These are minimums. If you don’t meet them, you may be disqualified even if you pass the written test.
